ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF SIGNATURES AND
LEGALIZATION OF GENERAL DOCUMENTS
In order to be valid in Brazil, foreign documents need to be
legalized at the Consular Service of the Embassy and translated in Brazil by a
sworn translator.
Legalization means the authentication of a document or the
acknowledgement of the signature of the person who signed the document.
The Consular Service can only authenticate the signatures of
persons and legalize documents from institutions established within the
consular jurisdiction such as:

Brazilians and foreigners with a valid register of permit in Brazil
·
Certain local authorities
·
Notaries whose signatures are registered at the Consular Service
·
Acknowledgement of scholastic documents and official institutions of the
Surinamese government.
Fee: The
amount depends on the document and the objective of the legalization. Please
obtain information in this regard.
Form of payment:
At the Consular Service it is possible to obtain a form for means of deposit
at: the RBTT Bank (Suriname) N.V.

Stated period: 5 working days, starting on the day of submitting the bank
deposit receipt.
LEGALIZATION OF SCHOLASTIC DOCUMENTS
In order to be valid in Brazil, foreign scholastic documents and diplomas
needs to be legalized at the Consular Service of the Embassy and translated in
Brazil by a sworn translator.
Fee: US$
5.00 (five dollars) per document or US$ 15.00 (fifteen dollars) per set of
more than three documents belonging to the same person.
Form of payment:
At the Consular Service it is possible to obtain a form for means of deposit
at: the RBTT Bank (Suriname) N.V.

Stated period:
5 working days, starting on the day of submitting the bank deposit receipt.
